Updates to National Health Insurance Eligibility Certificates from August

National Health Insurance Eligibility Certificates

People who have not registered their My Number Card as their health insurance certificate:
Eligibility certificate
Olive green → (New) cream and new card style
People who have registered their My Number Card as their health insurance certificate:
Notification of eligibility information; A4 size plain paper
Sending Method:
Mailed to head of the household by the end of July
People who do not have a My Number Health Insurance Eligibility Certificate will receive an eligibility certificate, while those who do will receive a notification of eligibility information.
However, for the Notification of Eligibility Information, as a general rule, there will be no expiration date or information on the percentage of costs to be borne for people under the age of 70, and if there are no changes or updates to the information already provided, no new notification will be issued.

National Health Insurance Ceiling-Amount Application Certificate

Those aged 69 or younger
Those who wish to continue using their certificate must complete the renewal process.Please contact the national health insurance team of your respective ward.
Certificates applied for by the end of August are valid from August 1.
Those aged 70 to 74
  1. Households with individuals aged 70~74 enrolled in the National Health Insurance system and have a taxable income between ¥1.45 million and ¥6.9 million.
  2. Members of households where all members are exempt from municipal tax.
    A notice will be sent to individuals who meet either of the above conditions by late July. Those who believe they are eligible but have not received a notice by the end of July should contact the national health insurance team of their respective ward.

Updates to Medical Insurance Eligibility Certificates for Advanced-Age Senior Citizens from August
8月の後期高齢者医療資格確認書などの更新

Issued items will differ depending on the age of the person and the registration status of their My Number Health Insurance Elgibility Certificate (My Number Card that is registered as a Health Insurance Certificate).

Eligibility Certificates for Advanced-Age Senior Citizens

People aged 85 or older / People aged 84 or younger who have not registered a My Number Health Insurance Eligibility Certificate:

Orange → (New) light purple
People aged 84 or younger who have registered a My Number Health Insurance Eligibility Certificate:
Notification of eligibility information
A4 size, white
Eligibility certificates will be issued even to those aged 84 or younger who are applying while citing the difficulty of getting a medical examination through their My Number Card and needing assistance from a third party to do so
Eligibility certificates will be mailed to the target person by the end of July
