Eligibility

  • Households with a Certificate of Residence in Hamamatsu City as of June 3, 2024
    Note: Households where all members are dependents of someone who is subject to residence tax are not eligible.
  • Households where all members are newly exempt from residence tax on a per capita basis for the fiscal year 2024.

Benefit Amount

  • 100,000 yen (per household)

Households Only Subject to Residence Tax on a Per Capita Basis

Eligibility

  • Households with a Certificate of Residence in Hamamatsu City as of June 3, 2024
    Note: Households where all members are dependents of someone who is subject to residence tax are not eligible.
  • Households where all members are either newly exempt from residence tax on a per capita basis or only subject to residence tax on a per capita basis for the fiscal year 2024.

Benefit Amount

  • 100,000 yen (per household)

Child Allowance

Eligibility

  • Households with a Certificate of Residence in Hamamatsu City as of June 3, 2024
    Note: Households where all members are dependents of someone who is subject to residence tax are not eligible.
  • Households that meet either of the eligibility requirements on the left, and have a child or children 18 years old or younger (born on or after April 2, 2006) as of June 3, 2024.

Benefit Amount

  • 50,000 yen (per child 18 years old or younger)

Notification
Notices will be mailed to eligible households starting in early July.

Please contact the call center in the following cases:
  1. All household members become newly exempt from residence tax or only subject to residence tax on a per capita basis due to circumstances such as a divorce or death.
  2. The household has a child born on or after June 4, 2024, or has a dependent child living at a separate address such as at a school dormitory.
  3. Households that believe they are eligible but have not received a notice.

Changes to Advanced-Age Senior Citizen Medical Insurance (individuals 75 years and older) and National Health Insurance (for farmers and the self-employed) Cards from August 2024

National Health Insurance cards will be abolished on December 2, 2024. However, insurance cards being mailed in July may be used as usual until the expiration date. After insurance cards are abolished, individuals without a My Number card will be issued a “Certificate of Eligibility” as a substitute.

Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application and Reduction of the Standard Amount of Patient Liability for Advanced-Age Senior Citizens

Individuals who already have been certified or become eligible from August onwards will receive new certificates by early August via post. Individuals that are newly eligible should call the Advanced-Age Senior Citizen team of their respective ward office or administrative center to receive certification.

For Individuals Who Currently Have an Eligibility Certificate for Ceiling-Amount Application

Individuals under 70
Those who wish to continue using their certificate must complete a renewal process.
Please contact the national health insurance team of your respective ward.
* Certificates applied for by the end of August are valid from August 1.
Individuals aged 70 to 74

Conditions: [1] Households with individuals aged 70~74 who have National Health Insurance, and a taxable income of between ¥1.45 million and ¥6.9 million.

[2] Members of households where all members are exempt from municipal tax.

A notice will be sent to individuals who meet either of the above conditions by late July. Those who believe they are eligible but have not received by the end of July should contact the national health insurance team of their respective ward.

Tax Adjustment Benefit (For Those with Insufficient Flat-Rate Tax Reductions)
< 調整給付金(定額減税しきれない人への給付金)>

Conditions Individuals who are eligible for a flat-rate tax reduction, and whose FY2024 estimated income tax or individual residence tax is expected to exceed the tax reduction received.
* Only tax-paying individuals with a total income of 18,050,000 yen or less are applicable.
Benefit Amount The insufficient balance of the tax reduction
  • The total sum of insufficient income tax and residence tax reduction balance, rounded up to nearest 10,000 yen increment.
Notification Notifications will be mailed in late July (together with the benefit confirmation form) to eligible individuals.
Application Method Individuals must apply to receive the adjustment benefit. Please fill in the benefit amount and your bank account information, and submit the benefit confirmation form. If you have already registered a bank account for receiving public funds and payment to that account is preferred, applications can be completed electronically (online). For further details, please check the notification received via mail.

Eligibility:
Individuals or groups engaged in activities within Hamamatsu.
Conditions:

① Nominees be engaged in activities promoting interculturalism within the city for at least 5 years.

② They must be engaged in extraordinary pioneering activities that can serve as a role model for others.
