【Applications have closed】70,000 Yen Benefit(Applications have closed)and Child Allowance (50,000 yen per child) for Households Whose Residence Tax is 0 Yen

Certain procedures must be completed in order for you to receive the benefit.

We are awarding a benefit of 70,000 yen in the FY2023 to households whose residence tax is 0 yen.

Households with dependents (supported on same livelihood) under 18 years old (born after April 2, 2005) are eligible to receive a 50,000 yen child allowance payment per child.(Applications have closed.)For further details, please refer to "Child Allowance".

Eligible Households

Households in which all member’s residence tax totals to 0 yen for the FY2023.

  • Households in which all members of the household are receiving financial support from other family members who pay more than 0 yen residence tax will not be eligible for the benefit.  

Payment Amount

A benefit of 70,000 yen per household.

1.Households who Receive a Notice of Payment

From January 15, Notices of Payment (purple) are being sent by post to households that are considered eligible for the benefit.  
If you wish to change details for the receiving bank account (i.e. use a bank account different to the one printed on your notice), or if you do not wish to claim the benefit, please ensure to contact the call center (0120-034-053)before the deadline written on your notice. You are not required to do anything else.

Payment Period

Payments for households that are not changing their bank account details will begin on February 7 (Wed). 
Payments for households changing their bank account details will be made 1 month after the city receives the application.

2.Households that Receive a Confirmation Form

From January 17, Confirmation Forms (pink) are being sent by post to households that are considered eligible for the benefit.  
After filling out the required sections on the Confirmation Form, please submit it by post using the return envelope. Application forms cannot be submitted in person at City Hall. 

※Confirmation forms may sometimes not be sent to those that are eligible. 
 If you fulfill any of the below criteria, please obtain and submit the application form yourself.

  • Your per capita levy residence tax amount was reduced to 0 yen. 
  • Your household is comprised of those paying residence tax and those exempt from residence tax due to reasons such as divorce or death. etc.

Required Documents

Confirmation form

If your bank account details are not listed on the confirmation form, or you wish to collect the benefit using a different bank account to the one noted on the form, please submit a document with proof of identity (a passport or residence card) as well as a copy of your bank passbook. For more information, please read Section D on “Supplementary Documents”.

Application Deadline *Applications have closed.

Until April 1 (Mon), 2024

  • Documents postmarked on April 1, 2024 will be accepted. 
  • Please apply as soon as possible after receiving your confirmation form.

Date of Payment

The cash will be deposited to your account approximately 3 weeks to 1 month after the city receives your confirmation form. 
※If you omit information, or supplementary information is required, your payment will be delayed. 

Child Allowance   *Applications have closed. 

Eligible Households

Households with dependents (supported on same livelihood) under 18 years old (born after April 2, 2005) that are eligible to receive the 70,000 benefit for households whose residence tax is 0 yen.

Payment Amount

A benefit of 50,000 yen per child under 18 years old.

Application Procedure

From February 28, 2024, Notices of Payment are being sent by post to households that are considered eligible for the benefit.

If you wish to amend the details of children registered, change the receiving bank account (i.e. use a bank account different to the one printed on your notice), or if you do not wish to claim the benefit, please ensure to contact the call center (0120-034-053) before the deadline written on your notice.

If there are no changes in your situation, you do not need to contact the call center.

Date of 50,000 Yen Payment

Payments for households that are not amending the details of the registered children or their bank account are estimated to be made on the date written on your notice.

Payments for households amending the details of the registered children or their bank account will be made 1 month after the city receives the application.

2. Households that Receive a Confirmation Form

  • Your household is comprised of those paying residence tax and those exempt from residence tax due to reasons such as divorce or death. 
  • A child was born after December 2, 2023 in the same household
  • You have a dependent child but they live at a seperate residence (living at a school dormitory, etc.)
