Shingles Vaccine
〈 帯状疱疹ワクチン 〉
Partial Subsidy for Regularly Scheduled Vaccinations
- Eligibility:
-
- Those turning 65 in FY2025.
- Those aged between 60-64 on the day of vaccination with serious immunodeficiency conditions rendering daily tasks almost impossible.
- Those turning 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, or 100 in FY2025.
- Those turning 101 or older (FY2025 only).
- Period:
- April 1 (Tue) -
- Application:
- Please make a reservation directly with an eligible medical facility
- Cost (Copayment):
- Live vaccine (Zostavax) (1 dose): 4,900 yen
Recombinant vaccine (2 doses): 18,000 yen/dose
Free for households receiving public assistance or where all members are exempt from municipal tax
- Cost (Note):
- No refunds are possible after vaccination.
Please either present a document that proves you are a member of a household exempt from municipal taxation at the counter of the medical facility or apply in advance at a health promotion center and present the free vaccination coupon to the medical facility.
- What to bring when you get vaccinated:
- For 1, 3, and 4: A vaccination coupon and an identification document (MyNumber card, etc.)
For 2: A document that confirms the degree of disability (e.g., physical disability handbook) and an identification document (e.g., MyNumber card)

Partial Subsidy for Voluntary Vaccinations
- Eligibility:

- Those aged between 50-59 on the day of vaccination.
Note: If you received the first dose of recombinant vaccine (Shingrix) aged 59 in FY2025, you are also eligible to receive the second dose aged 60.
- Those aged 60 or over on the day of vaccination who received the first dose of Shingrix in 2024 and have not yet received their second dose.
- Period:
- April 1 (Tue), 2025 - March 31 (Tue), 2026
- Application:
- Please make a reservation directly with an eligible medical facility
- Cost:
- The cost is determined by the city's commissioned medical facilities, minus 3,500 yen per dose (one dose for the live vaccine and two doses for the recombinant vaccine). Please inquire directly with the medical facility for the cost of the vaccination.
- What to bring when you get vaccinated:
- An identification document (such as a MyNumber card)

Partial Subsidy for Pneumococcal Vaccinations for the Elderly
〈 高齢者用肺炎球菌ワクチン定期予防接種費用の一部助成 〉
- Eligibility:

- Those aged 65 on the day of vaccination(Vaccination coupons will be issued to those eligible).
- Those aged 60 and over with severe heart, kidney, respiratory, or immunodeficiency conditions that can be confirmed by a Physical Disability Handbook or similar document.

- April 1 (Tue), 2025 - March 31 (Tue), 2026

- Please make a reservation directly with an eligible medical facility
- Cost (Copayment):
- 4,500 yen

Additional Measures for Rubella
〈 風しんの追加的対策 〉
- Eligibility:
- Men born between April 2, 1962 and April 1, 1979 who were deemed to have insufficient antibodies according to the results of an antibody test conducted by March 31,2025. Coupons were issued in late March 2024. These coupons are still valid but cannot be used for the antibody test.
※Those who received a routine Rubella antibody test or Rubella phase 5 vaccination using a coupon in March 2019 or later are not eligible on this occasion.

Vaccinations are voluntary and not mandatory and administered based on an understanding of both the effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing infection and the risk of adverse reactions. Please be aware that adverse reactions may occur after vaccination. If you experience any unusual symptoms or changes in your health after vaccination, please consult with your doctor immediately.

FY2026 Scholarship Applications
〈 令和8年度奨学金の申請 〉
School expenses will be loaned interest-free to students who are unable to access education due to financial difficulties. Applications will be accepted from the summer of the year prior to enrolment. Please check the application guidelines before preparing your application.
- Eligibility:

- Those residing in Hamamatsu city that will enroll or are currently enrolled in a university or vocational school for the 2026 academic year (monthly loan amount: up to 45,000 yen).
- Those who are the child of a resident of Hamamatsu City and will enroll or are currently enrolled in a high-school for the 2026 academic year and commute from a place other than their home (monthly loan limit: up to 30,000 yen).
