Procedures for Insufficient Tax Rebate Payment
不足額給付の手続きについて

Insufficient Tax Rebate Payment 1 (Supplementary fixed rate tax reduction): Rebate confirmation letters were sent to eligible individuals in late July.

Overview:
Eligible individuals for the fixed rate tax reduction are people whose fixed-amount tax reduction amount exceeded the 2024 fiscal year income tax amount or the 2024 fiscal year individual resident tax income tax amount prior to the fixed-amount tax reduction, and who could not fully receive the tax reduction, resulting in an insufficient amount in the initial adjustment payment made in the 2024 fiscal year. Insufficient Tax Rebate Payment 2: Rebate confirmation letters will be sent to eligible individuals in late August.

Overview:
Individuals other than those eligible for Insufficient Tax Rebate Payment 1 who have a 2024 fiscal year income tax amount and 2024 fiscal year individual resident tax income portion amount of 0 yen (non-taxable) and do not meet the eligibility criteria for the spouse deduction or dependent deduction (specifically, those with a total income amount exceeding 480,000 yen or those engaged fulltime in family run business activities, i.e. a spouse, relative, etc.) are eligible for this payment. However, individuals who were members of households eligible for the “Low-Income Household Allowance (Non-Taxable Households and Households Paying Only the Residence Tax on a Per Capita Basis)” implemented in the 2023 or 2024 fiscal year, are excluded from the Insufficient Tax Rebate Payment 2.

We plan to transfer the funds to your registered public fund account in mid-October. Please check the rebate confirmation letter for the payment amount and details for the account it will be transferred to. If you want to change the account for the transfer, please contact the Special Benefits for Residence Tax-Exempt Households Call Center, below, by Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

We will notify you during the health checkup for newly enrolled students. Even if you plan to have your child’s health checkup at a school other than the elementary school you intend to enroll your child in, enrollment procedures will be conducted at the after-school program of the elementary school you intend to enroll your child in. Please contact the after-school program of the elementary school you intend to enroll your child in for further details.
