Traffic Regulations for the 20th Hamamatsu City Marathon

Due to the 20th Hamamatsu City marathon, traffic regulations will be enforced and vehicles will not be able to pass through the Hamamatsu City Hall area – Kajicho-dori – Noguchi-odori – Densha-dori, Kamijima Elementary School - Yotsuike Park Athletic Stadium area - Japan Air Self-Defense Force Hamamatsu Air Base perimeter road. COVID-19 Vaccinations Starting in Autumn 2023
The mass vaccinations conducted by the city ended on Saturday, December 23, 2023. You can be vaccinated at cooperating medical institutions until March 31 (Sun.). For details, please check the website or call the Hamamatsu City COVID-19 Vaccination Information Hotline.

Filing Individual Municipal and Prefectural Tax Returns in 2024 (FY2023)

People who must file municipal and prefectural taxes
People who live in Hamamatsu City (as of January 1, 2024) and who fall into any of the following categories:
- People who earned income (including miscellaneous income) other than salaried income
- People who had income from business (from sales/agriculture) or real estate
- People who received no more than ¥4,000,000 from public pensions, and had no more than ¥200,000 in income outside of their public pension, and/or will declare for deductions using details that are different from their tax withholding slip
- People who will declare deductions for: medical expenses, social insurance premiums, life insurance premiums, earthquake insurance premiums, etc.
- People who will require a FY2024 tax certificate from mid-June onwards
- People who will file a final tax return
However, this excludes those who submitted a citizen/prefectural tax return to receive special provisions for the total of gains/losses for transfer losses on listed stocks and deductions brought forward for transfer losses on listed stocks, etc. during the fiscal years 2021 to 2023. - People whose sole income is from salary or people who only have income related to public pensions, etc
This excludes those who wish to amend deductions or add deductions onto their tax withholding slips.
This also excludes people who have not submitted a tax report to Hamamatsu City.
Municipal and prefectural tax returns can be done from home!
Step 1
◆ Fill out and prepare a tax return form
How to get a final income tax return form:
- Tax return forms will be mailed in early February to applicable persons based on the previous year's filings.
- Tax return forms can also be downloaded from the Hamamatsu City website.
- If you wish to receive your tax return form by mail, contact the Municipal Tax Division (Shiminzei-ka).
- From early February, copies will be available at the Municipal Tax Division (2nd floor of the Genmoku Branch Office Building), the Tax General Affairs Division (3rd floor of the City Hall Main Building), the Higashi, Nishi, and Minami Administrative Centers, the Hamana Ward Municipal Services Division, the Kita Administrative Center, the Tenryu Ward Property Tax Division Group, as well as branch offices, Community Collaboration Centers, the Fureai Community Center, and Municipal Services Centers.
※ Although the names of the wards have changed due to the reorganization of administrative districts, it is still possible to file a tax return with the address of the old ward name.

◆ Prepare and print a tax return form on the Hamamatsu City website
- You can prepare a tax return form by entering the required items on the Hamamatsu City website.
- Add any required information to the printed tax return form.
※ You can prepare your 2024 fiscal year from the end of January.

◆ Mail the tax return form in an envelope containing the following documents to the Municipal Tax Division (Shiminzei-ka).
How to Obtain Forms
- Enclose the original...Salary or pension withholding tax slips; income and expenditure breakdown for business income or real estate income, etc.; statements of medical expenses deduction; receipts for social insurance premiums and donations; deduction certificates for life insurance premiums, earthquake insurance premiums, etc.
- Enclose a copy... Front and back of your My Number Card (mai nambā kādo) or individual number confirmation documents and identification documents (driver's license, etc.)
※ If you wish to have these documents returned, please enclose a return envelope with stamps adhered. However, any documents from (2) will not be returned.
Municipal Tax and Prefectural Tax Consultations
Depending on how crowded the venue is, you may be asked to return at another time.
※ The Municipal Tax Division and City Hall will not offer tax counseling between February 16 (Fri) and March 15 (Fri).
What to bring:
- Documents showing income and deductions (※Refer to the ◆ documents in step 2 above)
- MyNumber card or number verification document and proof of identity (driver's license, etc.)
