・Procedures for staying in Japan must be carried out in person at the Hamamatsu Branch of the Nagoya Immigration Office.
・You must bring your passport and Certificate of Alien Registration.
・Other required documents differ depending on residence status and conditions so please contact the immigration office.
・Documents will be reviewed by the responsible department and accepted after being determined to meet the requirements.
・When necessary you may be asked additional questions or required to submit additional documents.
・Permission may be granted on the same day, however several days are usually required to grant or deny permission.
・When applying for permission the applicant will be sent a notification.
・Following the instructions on the notification, the applicant will carry out procedures at the immigration office in person.
・It may be necessary to pay for service charges in the form of stamps that can be purchased on site when permission has been granted.

This is a notification for holders of multiple nationalities to declare that they are choosing Japanese citizenship and renouncing their foreign citizenship.
If you acquired multiple nationality before the age of 20 you must choose one nationality before turning 22.
If you acquired multiple nationality after turning 20, you must choose one nationality within two years of acquiring the multiple nationality.
