In order to proactively advance its cooperative initiatives with world cities of music on the international stage and promote “City of Music, Hamamatsu” both domestically and abroad, Hamamatsu City held the World Creative Cities Forum in Hamamatsu 2015 on Friday, December 4, 2015.
At the forum, the seven cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music gave presentations on their local practices. In addition, the forum welcomed Jack Lang, former Minister of Culture of France, and other panelists representing various fields as guests, where they discussed musical diversity and creativity.
At the conclusion of the forum, the focus shifted to the World Music Festival and Sound Design Festival to be held in upcoming years, and with the endorsement of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network member cities, the “Hamamatsu Agenda: in pursuit of diversity and creativity in music” was adopted.
The participants of the forum expressed much interest in the World Music Festival, the Sound Design Festival, and Hamamatsu’s upcoming initiatives towards the realization of a creative city.
