Visit with Ahn Sang-soo, Mayor of Incheon
Mayor Suzuki of Hamamatsu, together with Mayor Kojima of Shizuoka city, met with Ahn Sang-soo, Mayor of Incheon on August 6th. While thanking Mayor Ahn Sang-soo for allowing Hamamatsu to set up a PR booth at the “Global Fair & Festival 2009 Incheon, Korea,” Suzuki talked about the strength of Hamamatsu’s industries as well as the abundant flowers and greenery throughout the city. Mayor Suzuki also spoke about the preparations for and appeal of the “Hamamatsu International Mosaiculture 2009,” a horticultural event in which Incheon will also exhibit. During the meeting, Mayor Suzuki invited Mayor Ahn Sang-soo to attend the event by making use of the new Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport. Mayor Ahn Sang-soo replied, “Hamamatsu city is famous for global companies such as Suzuki and Yamaha. Since these companies are also active in Korea, I feel that our city has a very close relationship with Hamamatsu. I would very much like to go to the Hamamatsu International Mosaiculture. If I am unable to attend, the vice-mayor will attend on my behalf.” He also stated that through the participation in the “Global Fair & Festival 2009 Incheon, Korea,” he would like to continue to build strong friendships with Hamamatsu and Shizuoka city.
