An exhibition of ancient Egyptian art from the collections of Eton College and the University of Durham took place at the Hamamatsu Municipal Museum of Art from June 10th to July 21st. Approximately 300 pieces from these British collections, which were assembled during the nineteenth century, were featured in the display. Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Hamamatsu commented that “the superbly preserved exhibits give us a real insight into the life of the ancient Egyptians. I hope that a large number of residents will come to enjoy the exhibition.”
