Shizuoka Case Study Tour: Dinner for Embassy Officials
On 21st November (Wed), the Mayor of Hamamatsu attended a dinner for Officials from embassies in Tokyo who visited Hamamatsu on the Shizuoka Case Study Tour. This tour was organised by the Shizuoka Tokyo Office, and was designed to further special envoys’, and other officials’, understanding of tourism and industry-related measures in West Shizuoka, in order to help develop networks in future. After welcoming the delegates, the Mayor of Hamamatsu promoted Hamamatsu’s industries and agriculture, as well as Hamamatsu International Mosaiculture 2009. The Cuban ambassador, His Excellency Mr José Fernandez de Cossio, spoke on behalf of all the delegates, explaining how they had learnt how high-quality products are being exported throughout the world thanks to the cutting edge technology of businesses in West Shizuoka, based largely in Hamamatsu, their sophisticated manufacturing processes and excellent management systems. The ambassador also stated that he was impressed by the city’s resolve to develop the region through events such as Hamamatsu International Mosaiculture 2009, which he felt sure would be a great success.
